love the nature and touch the green
Renowned architects such as Rocky Roquemore, Frank Pennink and Robert Trent Jones have all designed courses in the south region of Lisbon.Set in a vast estate close to Costa de Caparica, a long beach with 30 kilometres of white sand, and one of the best near Lisbon, Aroeira has the added advantage of being just 20 minutes to the south of Lisbon.Aroeira I - The course offers a wide variety of different playing situations requiring golfers to use almost all their clubs, without there being any bunkers on the fairways.
After hosting the Portuguese Open (European Tour) in 1996 and 1997, Aroeira increased its golfing attractions with the opening of a second 18-hole course in 2000.The ‘Aroeira II’, in the Aroeira tourist complex, is a unique course in Portugal. It’s made with ‘Penn A2’ type turf, which can be cut to a length of two mm. Its long greens (some more than 700 m2) are regarded as faster and more challenging as a result. In addition to bunkers on the fairways, this tricky course includes five large lakes you’ll have to repeatedly drive over.
In Tróia, in the beautiful countryside of the Sado estuary, play a round on the magnificent links course. The hole three par four is considered by Robert Trent Jones to be one of the eighteen holes of his ‘ideal’ golf course.
